The SAHGB is an organisation of people of all ages and in all parts of the British Isles and abroad, united by an interest in architectural history, including: academic and professional architectural historians, architects, undergraduate and postgraduate students of architecture and architectural history, and others from all backgrounds who simply have an interest in architectural history.

Members are able to join in the Society’s programme, which includes:

  • an annual residential study tour based each year in a different part of the British Isles;
  • an Annual Symposium with papers on a set theme;
  • regular, expert-led study tours  abroadand study days at sites of interest in Great Britain;
  • an Annual Lecture by a distinguished architectural historian.

Small print:

  • Membership dues are payable annually on the first day of January.
  • Membership is discounted 50% from September 1 to October 31.
  • ​Members who join after November 1 will be subscribed for the following calendar year.
